Job Description
We are looking for a Mid to Senior-level Microsoft Cloud Data Engineer with solid experience in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions on the Microsoft cloud stack. You will play a key role in delivering scalable and efficient data pipelines and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making in the mining sector. You will work in a dynamic, Agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
 - Build and optimize data models for analytical and reporting use.
 - Create interactive and insightful dashboards using Power BI and Grafana.
 - Ingest, transform, and manage large-scale datasets using Microsoft Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Kusto).
 - Write efficient and well-documented SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
 - Monitor data flows, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues in cloud data pipelines.
 - Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders.
 - Maintain best practices for data governance, security, and quality.
 
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4–8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
 - Mining experience is essential.
 - Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services, especially Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Explorer (ADX).
 - Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
 - Hands-on experience with Power BI dashboarding and DAX.
 - Exposure to Grafana for operational metrics or real-time monitoring dashboards.
 - Solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
 - Experience working with large datasets, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sectors.
 - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
 - Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
